Turkish Süper Lig powerhouse Fenerbahçe have officially announced the signing of Ghana international Kojo Oppong Peprah from French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, completing one of the club’s biggest defensive acquisitions of the summer.
The Istanbul-based club confirmed on Friday that an agreement had been reached with the 22-year-old centre-back, with reports indicating the transfer is worth more than €10 million, making him one of Ghana’s most expensive defensive exports in recent years.
Fenerbahçe also revealed that Oppong Peprah will be officially unveiled on Saturday, August 29, during a signing ceremony at the 1907 Tribune of the Chobani Stadium Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Sports Complex.
The event, which will be attended by the club’s Football Director Oğuz Çetin, is scheduled to begin at 11:00 local timeand will be open to members of the media as the Ghanaian defender is formally introduced to supporters.
Peprah’s move to Turkey marks another significant milestone in his rapidly rising career. After joining OGC Nice from Swedish outfit IF Norrköping last summer, the defender wasted little time establishing himself as one of the French club’s most reliable performers.
During the 2025/26 season, the commanding centre-back made 39 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal while helping Nice compete strongly in Ligue 1 and European competition. His composure in possession, aerial dominance and defensive intelligence earned widespread praise and attracted interest from several clubs across Europe.
Among the clubs linked with the Ghanaian were fellow Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg, but it was Fenerbahçe who ultimately secured his signature after moving decisively to complete the deal.
Oppong Peprah’s impressive club form also earned him recognition on the international stage. He broke into the Ghana national team and was part of the Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, featuring in Ghana’s group-stage matches against England and Croatia during the tournament hosted in Mexico, Canada and the United States.
The transfer offers the young defender the opportunity to continue his development under one of Turkey’s biggest clubs while competing for domestic honours and on the European stage.
Fenerbahçe supporters will now be hoping the Ghanaian can strengthen their defence as the club targets success in the Turkish Süper Lig and continental competitions, with Oppong Peprah expected to play a key role in the team’s ambitions this season.
