One of Ghana’s brightest young prospects, Abdul Manaf Ansah, is on the verge of completing a move to Belgian giants Club Brugge, with the highly-rated midfielder expected to join the club after impressing during successful trials in Germany and Belgium.
The 17-year-old defensive midfielder recently returned to Ghana after spending time in Europe, where his performances caught the attention of several scouts. Club Brugge have now emerged as the frontrunners to secure the signature of the promising youngster.
Ansah is a product of Emmanuel City FC, the same Ghanaian academy that produced Oscar Naasei Oppong, who recently completed a high-profile move to Spanish giants Real Madrid. The academy has built a growing reputation for nurturing elite young talent capable of making the transition to European football.
The talented midfielder has already gained valuable international experience, having represented Ghana’s U-20 national team during the 2025 WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship, where the Black Satellites finished as runners-up. His composure in midfield, tactical awareness and ability to shield the backline earned him praise throughout the tournament and further enhanced his reputation as one of the country’s most promising young players.
Under FIFA regulations governing the international transfer of minors, Ansah is expected to officially sign his professional contract with Club Brugge in March 2027, when he turns 18.
Once the transfer is completed, the plan is for the Ghanaian youngster to begin his European journey with Club NXT, Club Brugge’s renowned reserve and development side. The pathway has produced several players who have gone on to establish themselves in the Belgian Pro League and across Europe’s top leagues.
The proposed move represents another significant milestone for both Abdul Manaf Ansah and Emmanuel City FC, further highlighting the academy’s growing influence in developing Ghanaian talent for the European stage. Should the transfer be finalised, Ansah will become the latest young Ghanaian to continue his development at one of Belgium’s most successful clubs, with hopes of eventually breaking into Club Brugge’s first team.
