Ghanaian forward Caleb Ekuban has completed a return to Serie A, joining Hellas Verona on a contract running until 30 June 2028.
The 32-year-old attacker arrives after five seasons with Genoa, where he made 128 appearances across Serie A, Serie B and the Coppa Italia, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists.
Born in the Verona region, Ekuban began his football journey with Mantova and Chievo Verona before launching his professional career at Südtirol. He later featured for Lumezzane and Renate in Serie C before moving abroad.
His breakthrough came during the 2016/17 season with Partizani Tirana, where he scored 17 goals in 34 appearances, earning a move to Leeds United in England. He made 21 appearances for Leeds, scoring twice.
Ekuban later enjoyed a successful spell at Trabzonspor in Turkey, registering 29 goals and 18 assists in 103 appearances and helping the club compete at the highest level.
He returned to Italy with Genoa in 2021, spending five seasons with the club before making the switch to Verona.
At international level, Ekuban has represented the Black Stars of Ghana 13 times, scoring three goals.
Capable of playing as a centre-forward or right winger, Ekuban brings experience, physical strength and versatility to Hellas Verona’s attack.
The move represents a homecoming for the Ghana international, who was born near Verona and will now continue his career with the Gialloblù in Italy’s top flight.
