Ghanaian forward Prince Ampem continued his impressive scoring form in the AFC Champions League Elite after finding the net in Shanghai Port’s 1-1 draw with South Korean side Daejeon Hana Citizen on Tuesday.
Ampem gave the Chinese champions the lead four minutes into the second half, scoring in the 49th minute after taking advantage of a defensive mistake by the visitors.
However, Shanghai Port could not hold on to their advantage as Daejeon responded five minutes later through Diogo Oliveira, who scored to restore parity and ensure both teams shared the points.
The goal was Ampem’s fourth in just two appearances in the continental competition this season, highlighting his growing influence in Shanghai Port’s attack following his loan move from Turkish club Eyüpspor.
The Ghanaian had previously made headlines after scoring a first-half hat-trick against Thailand’s Ratchaburi FC, establishing himself as one of Shanghai Port’s key attacking threats in the tournament.
His latest strike also takes his overall tally for the Chinese club to nine goals and three assists in 26 appearances across all competitions during the 2026 campaign.
Although Shanghai Port were unable to secure all three points, Ampem’s continued contribution in front of goal will provide encouragement for the team as they pursue success in both domestic and continental competitions.
The draw leaves Shanghai Port with four points from their opening two matches in the AFC Champions League Elite, while Daejeon Hana Citizen also have four points.
Ampem will now be hoping to maintain his scoring form and help Shanghai Port strengthen their position as the competition progresses.
