Ghana’s Black Maidens head coach Nana Joe Adarkwa has named a 21-player squad for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup scheduled to take place in Morocco.
The squad comprises three goalkeepers, seven defenders, six midfielders and five forwards as Ghana prepare to compete against some of the world’s best young women’s football teams.
The three goalkeepers selected are Belinda Maku Aklie, Rahima A. Napari and Josephine Nyanufule.
The defensive department features Matilda A. B. Amoah, Hajara Adam, Latifa Musah, Mavis Koah, Rafia Osman, Juliana Gyekyewaa and Seraphina E. Esse.
In midfield, Ghana will rely on Belinda Kpentey, Christiana Ashiaku, Benedicta D. Nkietah, Seidatu Wahab, Zeinab Shani and Sekinatu Amadu.
The five forwards named in the squad are Priscilla Mensah, Linda Achiaa, Jessica A. Asamoah, Cynthia Obinsrewuo and Gloria A. Adomako.
The squad includes young talents who will be expected to demonstrate their abilities on the international stage as Ghana seek to make a strong impression at the tournament.
Ghana secured qualification for the competition after defeating Senegal 7-6 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in the second leg of their final qualifying tie at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The qualification marks Ghana’s return to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup after missing the previous three editions.
The Black Maidens have been drawn in Group C alongside Norway, Brazil and Canada, setting up a challenging group-stage campaign for the West African side.
The 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup is scheduled to run from October 17 to November 7 in Morocco.
With the squad confirmed, head coach Nana Joe Adarkwa and his technical team will focus on preparing the players for the tournament as Ghana aim to compete strongly and progress as far as possible.
