Ghanaian midfielder Rahim Ibrahim continued his outstanding start to the 2026/27 season by scoring in Slovan Bratislava’s 2-1 victory over FK Železiarne Podbrezová in the Slovak Super Liga on Saturday.
The 22-year-old found the back of the net for the fifth time this season, surpassing his previous career-best tally of four goals in a single campaign despite making only nine appearances across all competitions.
Ibrahim, who made his sixth league start of the season, produced another influential display in midfield as the defending Slovak champions claimed a hard-fought away victory.
Slovan took the lead in the 41st minute through Armenian international Tigran Barseghyan, who calmly converted after being set up by Nino Marcelli to give the visitors a deserved advantage before the break.
Just minutes into the second half, Ibrahim doubled Slovan’s lead with a composed finish, putting his side firmly in control and continuing his impressive scoring form.
Podbrezová responded in the 62nd minute through Czech midfielder Ondřej Deml, setting up a tense finale, but Slovan defended resolutely to secure all three points.
Ibrahim’s strike ultimately proved decisive as the Bratislava-based club maintained its strong run in the Slovak top flight.
The former Accra Lions midfielder has now enjoyed his most productive campaign since joining Slovan Bratislava, highlighting his rapid development into one of the club’s key performers. His improved attacking output has added another dimension to his game, complementing his energy, technical ability and work rate in midfield.
Earlier this year, Ibrahim was rewarded for his progress with a contract extension until 2030, underlining the club’s confidence in his long-term future.
With five goals already to his name and plenty of football still to be played, the Ghanaian youngster is well on course to register the best season of his professional career while strengthening his credentials for future opportunities with the Black Stars.
