Ghanaian striker Prince-Osei Owusu has been named CF Montréal’s Player of the Year for the second consecutive season after another outstanding campaign in Major League Soccer (MLS).
The club captain retained the prestigious individual award after first claiming the honour in 2025, further underlining his importance to the Canadian side and his growing influence both on and off the pitch.
Owusu enjoyed a remarkable 2026 MLS season, producing 21 direct goal contributions in 26 appearances. The experienced forward scored 15 goals and provided six assists, making him one of Montréal’s most productive attacking players.
His consistent performances in front of goal have made him a central figure in the club’s attacking strategy, while his leadership as captain has further enhanced his reputation as one of the team’s most valuable players.
The back-to-back Player of the Year recognition represents another major milestone in the career of the 29-year-old, who has continued to deliver impressive performances since joining CF Montréal.
Owusu’s latest achievement comes exactly a year after he earned his first call-up to the Ghana senior national team. The striker made his Black Stars debut in November 2025 during the Kirin Cup tournament in Asia after his impressive club form earned him recognition from the national team selectors.
Since then, he has remained among the forwards being considered for Ghana’s attacking options, with his goalscoring consistency keeping him firmly in the national team conversation.
With consecutive club awards and 21 goal contributions in a single MLS campaign, Owusu continues to strengthen his status as one of Ghana’s most effective forwards playing abroad.
