Ghana forward Ishmael Yartey is perpetuating his scintillating start to life in the Finnish top-flight league as he fired the opening goal for KPV Kokkolla in their 3-2 away loss to HIFK on Friday evening.
KPV surrendered a 2-0 first-half lead to lose 3-2 to Helsinki IFK.
HIFK went into the game at the Telia 5G-Areena determined to claim the maximum points and it was the former Ghana Under-17 winger who gave them right impetus with an imperious finish on the 25th minute mark.
19-year-old Enoch Banza weighed in a well articulated crossfield ball for the ex-Benfica who had ghosted into the area and he timely skewed his marker to plant the ball beyond the on-rushing keeper for his second goal in three games.
Serbian Milos Josimov increased the tally for KPV on the brink of halftime.
Yartey has now scored two goals from his opening three games for KPV in the league.
He picked the Most Valuable Player of the match award on his debut game in the season after scoring to power his side to victory.
