Asante Kotoko is ready to drop their interest in the permanent signing of midfielder Justice Blay as the team of Maxwell Konadu switch attention to budding talent Emmanuel Keyeke.
The 22-year old Karela United central defensive midfielder is already in Kumasi waiting to complete all the necessary paperwork and documentation by the close of the week to become a Porcupine Warrior.
SPORTSWorldGhana.com understands Maxwell Konadu has been told by his bosses to forget about the permanent capture of Blay who was the most used Kotoko midfielder of the 2019/20 Premier League season which was cancelled due to the Covid-19. Medeama are said to have valued the player more than what Kotoko could afford to pay.
According to Kotoko it will not make sporting and economic sense to have Richard Senanu, Justice Blay and Emmanuel Keyeke at the same time who are all primarily defensive midfielders. The team also has to quickly decided on the future of midfielders like Kingsley Effah, Collins Ameyaw and Douglas Owusu Ansah.
The 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season commences November 13th as Kotoko also prepares for the 2020/21 CAF Champions League.
