Asante Kotoko finished Week 23 of the Ghana Premier League as leaders of the competition following a 3-1 home win over Dreams FC in Obuasi.
The team coached by Mariano Barreto lead the standings with 41 points – one more point over closest challengers Great Olympics and Medeama.
The Porcupine Warriors came from a goal down to win 3-1 in a game full of talking points as two penalties were given – one for each side but largely the home side were the better football team.
Agyenim Boateng put the visitors ahead in the 38th minute from the spot after Fabio Gama handled the ball in the area but fellow Brazilian Michael Vinicius equalized for Kotoko with a clever header just a minute later on the service of Emmanuel Gyamfi.
The home team scored two more goals in the second period as Ismail Ganiyu and Andy Kumif Francis put the game beyond their opponents.
