Kwame Opoku scored on his USM Alger debut over the weekend during one of the biggest matches on the Algerian football calendar as he scored the first of the two goals for his side against MC Alger in the derby.
USM Alger 2 MC Alger 0. The final score-line read with Opoku’s name as the first scorer on the sheet of the game that also had another Ghanaian player on the opposite team -Joseph Esso formerly of Dreams FC.
The occasion was massive and the expectation was high for the Ghanaian attacker and he never disappointed. The celebration in the dressing room says it all. Opoku is loved by all at USMA and this was a great start by the former Kotoko striker.
This is not the first time he scored on his debut as he did so in his first official match at Asante Kotoko in the 1-1 draw against Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Accra sports stadium on 15th November 2020.
Opoku has started well and we hope to see him reach greater heights in North Africa , where generally, not too many Ghanaian players have excelled in recent times.
