Dreams FC head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, believes that the preliminary stages of the CAF Confederation Cup have provided him with valuable experience.
Dreams FC secured their spot in the group stage of the competition by defeating FC Kallon of Sierra Leone over two legs.
Zito shared his thoughts with Radio Gold Sports, stating, “Now in terms of experience I may say, the two or four matches that we played in the qualifiers have also helped us to see the pros and cons of how the group stage is being played.
He acknowledged that the group stage would be challenging due to the higher standard of play compared to the knockout stage.
“So for now I know it will be very difficult because when you look at the standard of the play from the knockout stage to this group stage, there are a lot of differences”
However, he expressed confidence that with a positive attitude and effective training, his team could make a meaningful impact.
“But with good attitude and good training, we will also go there and make a meaningful impact.” Karim Zito told Radio Gold Sports.
The draw for the group stage is scheduled to take place on October 6, 2023, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
