Hearts of Oak Managing Director, Delali Anku-Adiamah, believes his team deserved a point in their narrow loss to Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.
In a tense matchday 13 encounter at Baba Yara Stadium, the Phobians suffered a 1-0 defeat, extending their winless streak against their archrivals to four consecutive games. Kotoko’s Albert Amoah capitalized on a defensive mistake by Hearts’ Kelvin Osei Asibey to score the match-winner in injury time.
“We could have played differently, possibly better. It’s a Kotoko-Hearts of Oak clash, and sometimes these things happen. We need to go back and review the game. Personally, I feel a draw would have been a fair result,” Anku-Adiamah commented in a post-match interview with Kessben FM.
He also pointed out that this was Hearts’ first defeat in six matches, following a strong run. “We’ll analyze the game, identify our shortcomings, and bounce back stronger,” he added.
Currently, Hearts of Oak sit seventh in the Ghana Premier League standings with 19 points after 13 matches. The team will face Berekum Chelsea in their next fixture this weekend.
