Dreams FC coach Karim Zito has expressed his conviction that teenage sensation Abdul Aziz Issah possesses the talent and potential to represent Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars.
The 17-year-old prodigy has been a standout performer since his debut for the senior team two seasons ago, demonstrating exceptional skill and maturity on the pitch.
Issah’s impressive displays have played a crucial role in Dreams FC’s advancement to the quarter-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup, with his dazzling performances contributing significantly to the team’s success.
With Dreams FC on the brink of a potential semi-final berth following a remarkable 2-1 victory over Stade Malien in the first leg of their quarter-final encounter, Issah’s contributions have been indispensable.
Known for his outstanding dribbling ability and relentless work ethic, the young star has emerged as one of the most promising talents in Ghanaian football, attracting attention from national team selectors.
There is widespread belief that Issah has the potential to follow in the footsteps of legendary Ghanaian midfielder Abedi Pele, given his stellar performances at both club and country levels.
Notably, Issah played a pivotal role in Ghana’s triumph at the 2023 All Africa Games Men’s tournament, where the Black Satellites secured gold with a 1-0 victory over Uganda.
Zito, who has guided Dreams FC to unprecedented success in African club competition, expressed his confidence in Issah’s readiness to represent the Black Stars.
“I have no doubt that Abdul Aziz Issah is ready for the Black Stars,” Zito affirmed. “He possesses the quality and attributes required to excel at that level. Abedi Pele was around the same age when he joined the Black Stars squad, and today, he is revered in Ghanaian, African, and world football.
“Aziz has achieved more than Abedi did when he first joined the national team. He has excelled in the Ghana Premier League, Confederation Cup, and even clinched gold at the All Africa Games. His impact on the pitch is undeniable, with opposition coaches now strategizing specifically against him when facing Dreams FC. If I were the coach of the Black Stars, I wouldn’t hesitate to include him and give him an opportunity.”
Issah’s impressive accomplishments across various competitions underscore his readiness for the national team stage, reinforcing Zito’s endorsement of the young talent for the Black Stars.
