Asante Kotoko head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, has made it clear that his team is fully focused on winning the 2024/25 MTN FA Cup, insisting they will not take Golden Kick lightly in the final.
The Porcupine Warriors are set to clash with the lower-tier side on June 15 at the University of Ghana Stadium. Despite the difference in divisions, Coach Zito says his team is treating the match with the seriousness it deserves.
“You can’t underrate any club until you’ve achieved your goal,” Zito told reporters. “I don’t care whether they’re in Division One or not — that doesn’t matter to me. I’m going there for the cup.”
“Whoever reaches the final, I will face them head-on. I’m going to fight, and I’ll make sure we win and bring the trophy home,” he added with confidence.
Asante Kotoko secured their place in the final with a narrow 1-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea in a tightly contested semifinal at the TNA Stadium. Golden Kick, on the other hand, pulled off a surprise by defeating Attram De Visser 3-1.
Meanwhile, Kotoko will turn their attention to the Ghana Premier League this weekend as they prepare to take on Dreams FC in a Matchday 31 fixture at the Tuba Astro Turf.
