Abdul Salam Yakubu, the President of New Edubiase FC, holds a strong belief that Ghanaian clubs can achieve success in Africa’s inter-club competitions.
However, he emphasizes that for a club to make a significant impact, they must be prepared to invest a minimum of $3 million.
During an interview with Angel FM in Accra, the experienced football administrator stated that any Ghanaian club participating in the African inter-club competitions without having access to that amount of financial resources is bound to fail.
“If a Ghanaian club aims to leave a mark in an African competition, they must have a budget of at least $3 million. Without having that financial capability, it’s futile,” remarked Abdul Salam Yakubu.
At the conclusion of the 2022/23 football season, the winners of the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup will have the opportunity to represent the country in the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup, respectively.
