Hearts of Oak coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, conceded that his team fell short of expectations in their 1-1 draw with Bofoakwa Tano in the Ghana Premier League on Monday.
Despite a dominant first-half display that saw Salifu Ibrahim put them ahead, Hearts of Oak couldn’t secure the win as Bofoakwa fought back to level the score.
Salifu Ibrahim’s clinical finish in the 23rd minute gave Hearts of Oak the lead after a period of sustained pressure. However, Bofoakwa responded in the second half, capitalizing on defensive lapses to equalize.
Ouattara acknowledged his team’s errors, stating, “One or two things did not go well but it’s part of the game. There were some faults with the way we started but we tried to do the things well.”
He stressed the inevitability of mistakes, saying, “It’s the human being, you can make some mistakes.”
Despite the draw, Hearts of Oak remains in eighth place, with Ouattara’s impact on the team evident. They look to regroup for their upcoming fixture against Dreams FC on Thursday.
