Accra Lions forward Yahaya Mohammed has completed a move to Albanian champions KF Egnatia during the current transfer window.
The 19-year-old striker has signed a three-year contract with the Albanian giants, departing the Ghanaian Premier League side after an impressive season.
Yahaya emerged as one of Accra Lions’ standout performers last season, netting six goals in 25 matches, contributing significantly to the club’s second-place finish in the 2023/24 campaign.
KF Egnatia announced the signing with excitement, stating, “The club is pleased to announce that a new ‘warrior’ has entered the ‘Board of the Champions’ plane’. Mohammed Yahaya has signed for three seasons, thus starting a long journey with us. President Agim Demrozi has congratulated the 19-year-old striker who comes from Ghana.”
Yahaya’s move marks another departure from Accra Lions, following the exits of Emmanuel Dzigbah and Dominic Amponsah in the current transfer window. The young and highly-rated striker is expected to play a key role in Egnatia’s efforts to defend their title in the upcoming season.
