Ghanaian winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei has shared his excitement after completing a move to German Bundesliga 2 club, Schalke 04.

The former Black Stars player joined Schalke as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Bundesliga side Bochum in June 2024, bringing an end to his three-year stint with the club.

Antwi-Adjei signed a two-year deal with Schalke 04, keeping him at the club until June 2026. He has been handed the number 18 jersey and is expected to play a significant role for the Royal Blues this season as they push for promotion back to the Bundesliga.

“I’m proud to be able to represent the Royal Blues on the pitch in the future,” Antwi-Adjei stated. “The club’s management team laid out a clear plan of how I will be able to help the team with my experience and quality. That’s exactly what I want to show the fans.”

Having spent the majority of his career in Germany, Antwi-Adjei brings a wealth of experience to Schalke 04. He has played for several clubs, including SC Paderborn, where he was instrumental in their consecutive promotions from the third tier to the Bundesliga.

Last season, the speedy Ghanaian made 25 appearances for Bochum, contributing two goals and two assists as the club narrowly avoided relegation from the Bundesliga.

Since making his debut for the Ghana national team in November 2019, Antwi-Adjei has earned three caps for the Black Stars.

Antwi-Adjei’s football journey began at his hometown club, Fortuna Hagen, in 1999. He later played for youth teams at Hasper SV, MSV Duisburg, Eintracht Dortmund, and Westfalia Herne, where he made his debut in the Oberliga Westphalia in 2013. After a stint at TSG Sprockhövel, he joined SC Paderborn 07, where he played a pivotal role in their rise to the Bundesliga.

Over the course of his career, Antwi-Adjei has made 113 appearances in the German top-flight and 62 appearances in Bundesliga 2, demonstrating his consistent performance at the highest levels of German football.
