Administrative Manager of the Ghana League Clubs Association, Oduro Nyarko has urged Ghana coach Otto Addo to name Sulley Muntari in the Black Stars team for the World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.
Ghana, four-time African Champions, hosts the Super Eagles of Nigeria on March 25, 2022 in the first-leg in Cape Coast before jetting off to Abuja for the reverse leg four days later.
Ahead of the epic encounter, the former Wa All Stars now Legon Cities, CEO who has been impressed with Muntari’s performance in the ongoing Ghana Premier League, wants the technical team to invite the veteran midfielder.
“Sulley Muntari always give tailored measured passes and he needs to be in the Ghana’s squad which will face Nigeria in the upcoming World Cup Play offs,” he told Sikka FM.
Sulley Muntari has been in a fine form since making a return to the Ghana Premier League, playing four matches and providing an assist.
The former Inter Milan and AC Milan star won his first trophy with the Ghana giants after helping Hearts of Oak defeated rivals Asante Kotoko to win the President Cup.
The 37-year-old put up a superb performance as the Phobians defeated their arch-rivals Asante Kotoko 2-1 to win the 2022 President’s Cup on Friday evening.
Muntari played 81 minutes of the game and had to be replaced by Gladson Awako.
Meanwhile, Ghana interim manager Otto Addo is expected to announce his strong squad for the two games in the Play-offs this week.
