Aduana FC returned to winning ways in the Ghana Premier League with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over FC AshantiGold 04 at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park in Dormaa Ahenkro on Sunday.
Abubakar Adams scored the only goal of the match in the 40th minute to secure all three points for the Dormaa-based side in their Week Seven encounter of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
The decisive moment came after Seidu Saana stepped up to take a free kick from just outside the penalty area. His powerful effort proved difficult for the AshantiGold goalkeeper to hold, allowing Adams to react quickly to the rebound and fire the ball into the net.
The goal gave Aduana FC a crucial lead before half-time and ultimately proved enough to settle a closely contested encounter.
The Ogya Boys entered the game determined to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat to regional rivals Young Apostles last weekend, a result that brought their three-match winning streak to an end.
Their response against AshantiGold 04 delivered the desired result, as they defended their advantage to claim an important home victory and maintain their push towards the top of the league standings.
For AshantiGold 04, the defeat was a setback following their 1-0 home victory over FC Samartex 1996 in Obuasi last weekend.
The visitors struggled to find a breakthrough in Dormaa despite their efforts to get back into the game. Their challenge became even more difficult in the latter stages when Akwasi Afari was sent off, leaving AshantiGold with ten men.
The dismissal reduced the visitors’ chances of mounting a comeback as they searched for an equaliser. Aduana FC capitalised on their advantage to protect their lead until the final whistle.
The result gives Aduana FC renewed confidence after their previous setback and provides a timely boost to their campaign in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League.
AshantiGold 04, meanwhile, will have to regroup and work towards improving their away performances as they seek to return to winning ways in their next league fixture.
