Stephen Anokye Badu, the defender for Aduana Stars, has completed a permanent transfer to Ethiopia’s top-tier team, Defence Force Sports Club.
At 27 years old, Badu has officially joined the Addis Ababa-based club following a successful agreement reached between the two sides.
Having reached a satisfactory arrangement, Anokye Badu has already departed from Ghana to Ethiopia to finalize the deal.
Notably, the former Sohar SC defender is now the second player from Aduana Stars to make the move to Ethiopia, following Kwame Adom Frimpong’s signing with Saint George SC.
These two players, along with others such as Caleb Amankwah and Umar Bashiru, have joined the ranks of Ghanaian footballers competing in the Ethiopian league.
Umar Bashiru, previously associated with Karela United and Asante Kotoko, has joined Ethiopian Commercial Bank. Similarly, Caleb Amankwah, who departed from Hearts of Oak, joined the same club on a free transfer.
Despite Aduana Stars losing the league title to Medeama SC in the later stages of the Ghana Premier League last season, Stephen Anokye Badu’s contributions were pivotal to the team’s performance.
