In Sunday’s Norwegian Eliteserien match, Isaac Atanga of Ghana found the net for Aalesund despite their 5-1 loss to Brann.
Prior to the game, the head-to-head stats between the teams stood at 11 wins for Brann, six wins for Aalesund, and seven draws.
Isaac Atanga commenced the match at Brann Stadion and remained on the field for 67 minutes.
Right from the kickoff, Aalesund faced relentless pressure from Brann. Frederik Børsting opened the scoring for Brann in the 18th minute, with an assist from Sander Erik Kartum.
Aalesund struggled to hold off Brann’s attacks, and in the 24th minute, Felix Horn Myhre extended Brann’s lead to 2-0. Then, in the 44th minute, Niklas Castro found the back of the net, assisted once again by Sander Erik Kartum, making it 3-0.
Isaac Atanga managed to pull one back for Aalesund seven minutes into the second half.
Bård Finne’s precise shot with his right foot from very close range made it 4-1 in the 54th minute.
Aune Heggebø sealed the victory for the home side with the fifth and final goal in the 80th minute, capitalizing on a swift counterattack.
Aalesund’s next league game will see them face off against Rosenborg.
