Ghana Premier League side Aduana Stars are in advanced discussions with former Karela United coach Bismark Kobi Mensah to become their new head coach.
The two-time league champions are currently without a manager following the dismissal of Yaw Acheampong last week due to a series of poor results in the ongoing league campaign.
Aduana Stars had been in talks with three potential candidates for the vacant coaching role, as confirmed by club spokesperson Evans Oppong last week.
“We are considering three coaches. Two locals and one foreign, but it is likely we will go in for a local coach. We will name a new coach soon,” Oppong stated in an interview with Ghanasoccernet.com.
However, the club is now on the verge of appointing Kobi Mensah until the end of the season, as they look to revive their form. The former Great Olympics coach is expected to help steer the team’s fortunes as they aim to climb the league table.
Currently, Aduana Stars are struggling, sitting in 13th place with just 12 points from 12 matches.
