AFC Bournemouth have strengthened their youth ranks with the signing of 16-year-old left-footed winger Denzil Decardi-Nelson from Levels FC, following a successful trial and scholarship offer.
The English-born Ghanaian talent will join Bournemouth’s elite academy setup, where he is expected to continue his development and progress through the club’s youth system. Known for his pace, skill, and natural attacking instincts, Decardi-Nelson is seen as one of the promising young prospects in English football with strong potential to make an impact in the future.
Phil Antwi, Head of Emerging Talent & First-Team Recruitment at Bournemouth, played a pivotal role in facilitating the transfer. Speaking on the signing, Antwi highlighted the club’s commitment to nurturing young talent and providing a pathway for gifted players like Decardi-Nelson to reach the professional stage.
“This is an exciting acquisition for our academy. Denzil has shown tremendous ability on the ball and intelligence in his play. We are confident that with the right guidance and environment, he can flourish here at Bournemouth,” Antwi stated.
Decardi-Nelson’s move underscores Bournemouth’s ongoing efforts to identify and develop young players with high potential, including those of Ghanaian heritage, reflecting the club’s growing focus on scouting talent both domestically and internationally.
The winger is set to begin training with his new academy teammates immediately, as Bournemouth look to mold him into a future first-team contributor.
