Black Stars captain Andre Ayew was missing from training today in Yaounde ahead of Friday’s ‘fate deciding’ game against Gabon, Sportsworldghana.com can confirm.
The Al Sadd SC man was exempted from the team’s training today due to the head injury he sustained in Ghana’s defeat to Morocco last Monday.
According to our sources at the team’s camp, Ayew was asked not to be involved in training under a strict doctor’s advise due to the gravity of his head injury.
Ayew is the most experienced attacker in the Black Stars squad in Cameroon and is the top scorer at AFCON for Ghana with nine (9) goals and could be a big loss if Ghana lose him to injury on Friday.
Morocco defeated Ghana 1-0 in the opening Ghana which puts the Black Stars in a tight spot which demands a victory over the Panthers of Gabon on Friday.
