Egypt head coach Rui Vitória believes Ghana are fierce competitors for the title ahead of the two teams meeting at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Pharaohs learned their destiny during Thursday night’s draw in Abidjan, where they were placed in Group B with Ghana, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.
Ghana gaffer Chris Hughton and his men will play Egypt in their second group encounter of the competition, four days after taking on Cape Verde.
Speaking after the draw in Ivory Coast, Vitória said: “We are in a strong group with teams that have very good players. Ghana are fierce competitors for the title but we are Egypt and ready.”
Meanwhile, Ghana will begin their group games on January 14 against Cape Verde.
