Spain-based striker Inaki Williams has secured his place in Ghana’s final squad for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, as confirmed by his club, Athletic Club, in a social media post on Sunday, December 31.
The announcement stated that Williams would join the Black Stars camp on New Year’s Day to commence preparations for the AFCON in Ivory Coast.
“Inaki Williams will gather tomorrow with the Black Stars of Ghana for the Africa Cup match,” shared Athletic Club in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Williams, recognized as one of Ghana’s top marksmen, has notably contributed 8 goals and three assists in 18 appearances for Athletic Club in the Spanish La Liga this season.
The official announcement of the complete Ghana squad for the 2023 AFCON is scheduled to be disclosed by Coach Chris Hughton today.
