Blue Waters Sports Club and Namibia Premier Football League chairperson, Robert Shimooshili, was elected the new Namibia Football Association (NFA) president at the 32nd NFA ordinary elective congress.
Walter Nyamilandu Manda has lost his seat to his rival Shimooshi who won by 19 votes, defeating rival Patrick Kauta, who received 15 votes
He has been President of the Association for the past 19 years since he first came to office in 2004.
At the Mzuzu Hotel, Manda’s 19-year reign came to an end as football Authorities in Namibia decided to vote him out.
James Mwenda, his on-and-off right-hand man lost to Christopher Kuyera in a battle for the Vice President to replace Jabber Alide while the then-incumbent Nathaniel Hara fell to Lameck Khonje in the second vice presidency showdown.
Namibia is drawn in Group E alongside Tunisia, South Africa and Mali for the 2023 AFCON 2023.
