Hearts of Oak and Nations FC played to a 1-1 draw in their Ghana Premier League clash at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Saturday.
The outcome extended Hearts of Oak’s winless streak to four games, while Nations FC continued their unbeaten run, now spanning six matches.
The Phobians had a strong start, securing a lead in the ninth minute with Hamza Issah netting his sixth goal of the season, courtesy of a deflected shot. Despite their early dominance, Nations FC gradually gained momentum and proved threatening on the counter-attack.
In the 94th minute, Richard Danso delivered a dramatic equalizer for Nations FC, capitalizing on a goalkeeping error by Hearts of Oak’s Richmond Ayi. Ayi’s failure to secure the ball properly allowed it to slip through his hands, raising concerns about his recent performances.
The draw left Hearts of Oak frustrated as they came close to ending their winless streak. Interim coach Abdul Bashiru’s future with the club may now face uncertainty as the team grapples with challenges in their pursuit of the league title.
Conversely, Nations FC will be content with the draw, maintaining their unbeaten run and securing fourth place on the league table. They aim to build on this result to climb higher in the standings.
