Six Black Stars players have arrived in camp and joined training at the Accra Sports Stadium as Ghana begins preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, Caleb Yirenkyi, Gideon Mensah, Ronald Donkor, Kwasi Sibo and Christopher Bonsu Baah are the first group of players to report for duty and take part in the team’s training activities.
Their arrival marks the start of preparations for Ghana’s crucial qualifying assignments, with the Black Stars set to face Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia.
The early arrivals have given the technical team an opportunity to begin work with part of the squad while other players continue to join camp from their respective clubs.
The six players are expected to play an important role in the team’s preparations as head coach Carlos Queiroz assesses the squad ahead of the qualifiers.
The training sessions at the Accra Sports Stadium will allow the players and technical team to begin working on their tactical approach, fitness levels and overall preparation for the matches.
The Black Stars are determined to secure qualification for the next Africa Cup of Nations after Ghana missed out on the previous edition of the tournament.
With more players expected to arrive in the coming days, the squad will gradually take full shape as Queiroz and his technical team intensify preparations for the important qualifying fixtures.
