The Black Meteors’ squad for their 2023 CAF U23 AFCON qualifier first leg tie against Algeria will consist of 25 players.
In the previous round, Ghana eliminated Mozambique to reach the third and final stage of the qualification tournament. The winner of each of the seven ties will advance to the tournament finals, which will be held in Morocco in June of this year.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko and his technical staff conducted a training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday, with 30 players taking part. Some foreign-based players have joined the squad to bolster the team for the two-legged tie.
Ahead of the trip to Algeria, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, Zubairu Ibrahim, Salim Adams, Alex Sarfo, Emmanuel Essiam, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, and Emmanuel Yeboah are all in camp.
The first leg match will take place on Friday, March 24, in Annaba, Algeria, with the return fixture scheduled for Tuesday, March 28, at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
