At 26, André Onana will evolve next season at Inter Milan.
If the Cameroonian international was a priority for the Nerrazzurri, the fact remains that hierarchically, he left to be number 2 among goalkeepers.
In an interview with DAZN , Cameroonian goalkeeper André Onana (26), a new Inter recruit, spoke of the rivalry with Samir Handanovic, captain and holder of the post.
“ Handanovic is a great goalkeeper, he has done a lot for this club, he is the captain. I have to respect him because he has done a lot. But I came here to play and respect the coach’s choices… If he decides it’s better to start with him, that’s fine. The important thing is that the group wins. I’m happy to have arrived in a healthy group: if I have to sit on the bench, I’ll sit quietly and cheer from there ,” said André Onana.
The Cameroonian international also recounted his first steps with the Lombard club: “I am learning a lot. I’m glad to be here. I’ve been to Barcelona and Amsterdam, but in Italy goalkeeper training is different. Here, we see football differently, there is another way of thinking and that will help me a lot”.
