The Algerian has scored 21 goals across all competitions for Manchester City this season.
Riyad Mahrez is witnessing his most prolific season after scoring 21 goals in 35 games in 2021/22 season. The former Leicester City winger leads the goal scoring chart at the club.
“I don’t know if I am a great goalscorer but I am trying to help the team as much as I can every game,” Mahrez, 31, told BBC Radio 5 live.
“This season I am more efficient but it is because of the work we are doing in training.
“I am trying to be more in the box and trying to be involved everywhere to try to score goals and help the team. That is the only thing I am trying to do.” he added.
City are in the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League and will play against Atletico Madrid.
