Ghana international Mohammed Kudus grabbed the headlines once again after scoring in Ajax’s opening game of the 2023/24 Eredivisie season.
The Ghanaian was on target in the 4-1 win at home as Ajax came from behind to beat Heracles Almelo.
Kudus played 90 minutes of the game but it was his second-half performance that saw him get on the lips of everyone.
The attacking midfielder gave Ajax the deserved lead in the 75th minute after being located with a long ball by Benjamin Tahirovic.
With Chelsea Arsenal and Brighton all interested in signing the talented attacking midfielder, the Ajax boss had this to say.
“I have read a lot of reports about Kudus this week but there is literally nothing right now that points to him leaving,” Steijn said after Kudus scored in season opener.
“I spoke to him this week and he is fully focused on Ajax. He is a jewel for Ajax”. He added.
