Ghanaian defender David Oduro has expressed his admiration for Alejandro Balde following his recent move to FC Barcelona.
The 18-year-old left-back, who signed a three-year deal from Accra Lions, was officially introduced by the club earlier on Tuesday.
Oduro, who will begin his journey with Barcelona B, is enthusiastic about the opportunity to learn from Balde.
In an interview with Sporty TV, Oduro revealed his admiration for the Spanish defender: “My role model is Alejandro Balde. I always look up to him because I want to learn a few things from him.”
He added, “If things go well, I hope to compete with him. It will be a great feeling because I’ve always watched him play and admire him a lot.”
Oduro joins Barcelona alongside Abdul Aziz Issah, who has arrived on loan from Dreams FC. Both players will start with Barcelona B, aiming to catch the eye of manager Hansi Flick for potential first-team opportunities.
