Young Ghanaian defender David Oduro has set his sights on making a significant impact at Barcelona after signing a three-year deal with the Spanish giants from Accra Lions.
The 18-year-old becomes the first player to join Barcelona directly from Ghana.
Before securing his move to Spain, Oduro had trialled with Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen, showcasing his potential across Europe.
In an interview with Sporty TV, Oduro shared his ambitions: “This is the time for me to work hard; this is not the time to sleep. I have to work extra hard to be able to play in the first team.”
He added, “The aim is to play in the first team, the Champions League, and then also for the Ghana national team.”
Oduro expressed his admiration for Barcelona’s philosophy, which played a key role in his decision to join the club. “I love their style of play. I went there, saw it, and loved the project. I can’t wait to get started.”
Oduro will begin his development with Barcelona B, aiming to impress and earn his spot in the senior team.
