Alexander Djiku has expressed his determination to recover from his fitness concerns and be ready to feature for Ghana in the Black Stars’ next game against The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday.
The experienced defender spoke to journalists after Ghana’s defeat to Ivory Coast and indicated that he is already focused on the next assignment rather than dwelling on the disappointing result.
Djiku acknowledged the importance of being available for the upcoming fixture, particularly as Ghana looks to respond strongly and get its campaign back on track.
The defender says he is prepared to put in the necessary work during the recovery period to give himself the best chance of returning to full fitness before Tuesday’s encounter.
“I will do everything possible to be fit and ready for the next game,” Djiku told journalists after the defeat to Ivory Coast.
His comments underline his determination to remain involved with the Black Stars despite the fitness setback.
Ghana will now turn its attention to The Gambia, with the Accra Sports Stadium set to host the encounter on Tuesday.
The Black Stars will be hoping for a much-improved performance and result, while Djiku will be working against time to make himself available for the important fixture.
