Alfreton Town have strengthened their attacking options with the signing of experienced Ghanaian forward Joe Dodoo.
Manager Billy Heath, who has been actively reinforcing his Reds squad ahead of the new campaign, expressed delight at securing the services of the 30-year-old striker.
Dodoo, born in Kumasi but raised in England, first rose to prominence after coming through the Leicester City Academy. He announced himself in style on his senior debut in August 2015, scoring a stunning hat-trick in a 4-1 EFL Cup win over Bury. Just days later, he earned his Premier League debut, coming on as a substitute in Leicester’s 1-1 draw against Bournemouth.
His early impact continued as he netted again in the League Cup against West Ham United, before going on loan to Bury for more experience. Though released at the end of the 2015/16 season, Dodoo was part of Leicester City’s historic Premier League title-winning squad.
Since then, the Ghanaian forward has gained valuable experience across clubs in England, Scotland, and abroad, building a reputation as a versatile and hardworking attacker.
Alfreton Town are hopeful that Dodoo’s quality and experience will make a difference at the Impact Arena as they push for success this season. Fans will be eager to see how quickly he settles in and delivers goals for the Reds.
