In an exciting move, Black Stars defender Alidu Seidu has become the latest Ghanaian talent to join Stade Rennais FC in the French Ligue 1. The full-back finalized his transfer on Monday, January 29, and was officially unveiled by the club.
Alidu Seidu’s signing is aimed at fortifying FC Stade Rennais, and he has committed to a four-year contract with the French side. He follows in the footsteps of five other notable Ghanaian players who have previously contributed to Stade Rennais’ legacy—John Mensah, Asamoah Gyan, John Boye, Kamal Issah, and Kamaldeen Sulemana.
Expressing his excitement about the move, Alidu Seidu sees Stade Rennais as a great club and a privilege to be a part of. In his first interview with the club’s media team, he stated, “I’m a player who doesn’t like to lose, I’m a fighter, I give everything for my colleagues, and I’m always looking to progress.”
Having enjoyed a successful stint at Clermont, Alidu Seidu is eager to continue his football journey with Stade Rennais, aiming for success and contributing his skills to the team. The defender is set to begin training with his new teammates on Tuesday, January 30.
