Black Stars skipper Andre Ayew equaled Asamoah Gyan’s record as the most capped player in the history of the Ghana national team following his appearance in the friendly game against Nicaragua on Tuesday night.
Ayew went at par with Gyan on 109 senior national team caps as he was introduced into the game in the 80th minute on Tuesday.
He made his Black Stars debut in 207 against Senegal in London in an international friendly and has been consistent since then playing 109 games and netting 233 goals.
Ayew will certainly break Gyan’s record in relations to national team appearances as he is set to lead the Black Stars in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
