Anthony Annan, a former midfielder of Hearts of Oak, has called on the current players of the club to fight diligently in order to help the team recover from their poor form.
The performance of the reigning champions of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League has experienced a significant decline in the ongoing season, with the club currently hovering just three points above the relegation zone.
As the final round of Ghana Premier League matches approaches, the former Ghanaian midfielder emphasized that Hearts of Oak’s standards have deteriorated and urged the players to give their utmost effort in order to restore the club’s former glory.
“We are all aware of the challenges the club is facing, but I want to encourage the players that it is a part of football, and despite the difficult times, they should continue to give their best,” he told Pipapipa Media.
“When you give your all for the club, opportunities will arise because it is a prestigious club. The current players must work hard to revive the club’s glory days, as the standard of Hearts has declined,” he added.
Hearts of Oak is scheduled to face Berekum Chelsea, currently in 10th place, at the Golden City Park on Sunday.
