Former Arsenal star midfielder Emmanuel Petit has advised the club to sign a new replacement for Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey.
The French midfielder says the Gunners need a new holding midfielder to compliment the work of the Ghana star in the midfield.
Though impressed with the output of the Ghana International versatile midfielder, the French man believes Arsenal are just one injury away from suffering in the league.
He stated that the Red and Whites outfit must must get themselves a good midfielder as a backup for the Ghana star in times of injury
According to him he’s not convinced with the current crop of players available as a backup option in midfield for Mikkel Arteta’s men.
“I’ve been very impressed by Grant [Xhaka] and Partey this season, they bossed the midfield against Spurs. But they can’t do it on their own,” Emmanuel Petit told Compare.bet.
“Especially if there are injuries. Arsenal need another holding midfielder. I’m not convinced by the other options, like Elneny. In the next transfer window, they should definitely be active in looking for another midfielder.”
