England-born winger of Ghanaian descent, Charles Sagoe Jr., has been recalled from his loan spell at Shrewsbury Town by parent club Arsenal.
Sagoe Jr. joined the League One side on loan in August 2024, a move aimed at providing regular game time to aid his development. However, midway through the 2024/25 season, Arsenal has brought the 19-year-old back following injuries to first-team wingers Bukayo Saka and Ethan Nwaneri.
Shrewsbury Town confirmed the recall in a statement, expressing gratitude for Sagoe Jr.’s contributions during his loan spell.
“Shrewsbury Town can confirm Charles Sagoe Jr. has returned to parent club Arsenal,” the club stated. “We would like to thank Charles for all his hard work over the past five months. The club wishes him and his family the very best of luck for the future.”
During his time at Shrewsbury, Sagoe Jr. made 18 appearances but did not find the back of the net. Arsenal’s plans for the promising youngster remain unclear as he returns to the Emirates.
