David Ocloo, the assistant coach of Asante Kotoko, is confident that his team will bounce back to winning ways in their upcoming match against FC Samartex 1996 this weekend.
The club’s recent struggles were compounded by a 2-0 defeat against Dreams FC during the Matchday 26 fixture at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu. Sylvester Simba and Derrick Agyei scored the goals for Dreams FC, leaving Asante Kotoko with just one win in their last nine games of the ongoing 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
The loss at Dawu pushed Asante Kotoko down to the 11th position in the league standings, with 33 points accumulated under the management of Prosper Narteh Ogum. Reflecting on the defeat, Ocloo expressed determination to turn things around when they play against the league leaders, FC Samartex 1996, at the Baba Yara Stadium in the upcoming Matchday 27 fixture.
Ocloo emphasized the significance of returning to their home ground, the Baba Yara Stadium, stating, “We will go back to Baba Yara, that’s our home.” He stressed the importance of seizing the opportunity to reverse their fortunes and secure a victory against Samartex at their home turf.
