Former Asante Kotoko striker Stephen Manu has expressed his excitement over the prospect of a deadly partnership between current Kotoko forward Albert Amoah and the recently returned Kwame Poku.
Amoah, who joined Kotoko from Great Olympics in the summer, has quickly established himself as a key player, scoring seven goals in 12 games so far this season.
In an interview with Kessben FM, Manu praised Amoah’s fighting spirit and goal-scoring ability, highlighting the potential of a partnership with Poku.
“Amoah is a fighter and a great goal scorer. Although he missed several chances, his determination was impressive. With him and Kwame Poku up front, Kotoko’s attack will be deadly,” Manu said.
Manu also shared his optimism for the team’s future, stating, “I will rate Kotoko 60%. On a good day, they can score five or six goals. I can see the team gelling well.”
Poku, who was unveiled before the Super Clash against Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Stadium, is expected to add firepower to Kotoko’s attacking line.
Amoah, with his current form, will be aiming to continue his goal-scoring run and secure the Ghana Premier League Goal King award. He currently trails Nations FC’s Faisal Charwetey, who leads the top scorer’s chart with eight goals, while Amoah follows closely with seven.
