Former Asante Kotoko striker, Stephen Manu, has lauded Albert Amoah for his standout performance in the Super Clash, where he scored the dramatic injury-time winner to secure a vital 1-0 victory over Hearts of Oak.
Amoah, who joined Kotoko from Great Olympics in the summer, was the hero in the highly anticipated clash, capitalizing on a defensive error involving Hearts’ Kelvin Osei Asibey and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare. The goal, deep into injury time, sealed the win for the Porcupine Warriors.
Speaking to Kessben FM, Manu praised Amoah for his resilience and determination, stating, “Albert Amoah is a fighter and a good goal scorer. He missed several chances in the game, but his fighting spirit stood out. Kotoko’s attack will be even more lethal with Amoah and Kwame Poku.”
Manu also shared his optimistic assessment of the team’s current form, saying, “I would rate Kotoko 60%. On a good day, they could score five or six goals. I can see the team is gelling well now.”
Amoah, with seven goals from 12 matches in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, will be aiming to keep up his impressive form and challenge for the Goal King award.
Currently, Nations FC’s Faisal Charwetey leads the goal-scoring chart with eight goals, with Amoah trailing closely behind.
