Vision FC coach Nana Kwaku Agyemang has praised Asante Kotoko’s potential to excel in the upcoming Ghana Premier League season. In a pre-season friendly on Sunday, Kotoko secured a 2-1 win over Vision FC, thanks to two goals from Albert Amoah.
Agyemang noted Kotoko’s disciplined approach, saying, “Asante Kotoko is very disciplined in terms of organization. They don’t press high but wait for spaces in the opponent’s team and utilize it. They did it to us in the first half, but I realized it and closed that space in the second half.”
He also remarked on Kotoko’s ability to break through defensive lines, adding, “On the whole, if they are a bit more potent in attack next season, I think they can damage a lot of teams.”
Kotoko, who finished sixth in the league last season, have undergone a significant overhaul, releasing over 20 players in preparation for a stronger performance. The new Ghana Premier League season begins on September 6, 2024, with Kotoko facing Karela United in the opening match.
