Samartex coach Nurudeen Amadu is bracing for a more challenging season ahead, following his team’s triumph in the Ghana Premier League last year. The Samreboi-based club outperformed their competitors to win the league and earned the distinction of being Ghana’s sole representative in the CAF Champions League.
Despite their success and readiness to defend their title, Amadu expects other prominent teams to raise their game in the upcoming season. He commented, “Preparation is going on elsewhere. You can talk about Medeama, Kotoko, and Hearts of Oak; everybody is coming strongly, so I anticipate a very tough season.”
Amadu added, “I’d have to anticipate that we are now a force to reckon with, and so any match will be a grand finale for us. We have to prepare ourselves very well because it’s not going to be easy,” in an interview with Max TV.
In recent fixtures, the Timer Giants secured a 1-0 victory over FA Cup champions Nsoatreman FC at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa. Prior to this win, they had already advanced to the next round of the competition.
Samartex will next face Dreams FC this coming weekend and is set to compete against Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca in the CAF Champions League on September 13.
