Former Asante Kotoko forward, Stephen Manu, is confident that his former club can secure the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title after their impressive 1-0 win over Hearts of Oak in the Super Clash on Sunday.
Striker Albert Amoah was the hero for Kotoko, scoring a dramatic injury-time winner following a mix-up between Hearts’ defender Kelvin Osei Asibey and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.
Speaking after the match, Manu expressed his strong belief in Kotoko’s title prospects, citing their dominance in the Super Clash as a clear indication of their potential to clinch the league.
“For sure, no doubt. I’m convinced Kotoko can win the Premier League considering their performance in the Super Clash. They can win the league hands down if the right things are done,” Manu told Kessben FM.
Manu further emphasized Kotoko’s superiority over Hearts of Oak, noting that the Porcupine Warriors could have won by a larger margin.
“Kotoko dominated Hearts of Oak, who have been in fine form. They should have beaten Hearts by a four-goal margin if they had been more clinical. Kotoko had the chance to collapse the Hearts team with more goals, but a win is a win,” he added.
Currently, Asante Kotoko sits sixth on the Ghana Premier League standings with 21 points from 13 matches.
